The Library of Consorci El Far, inaugurated in 1998, has the mission of gathering and providing the public a collection of books about the sea as the common theme.

The sea as a habitat and its interaction with human activity is shown in the sections on marine biology and the environment.

The sea as an economic resource is present in the section on fishing and fishing resources.

The sea as a leisure venue is the theme of the section on sporting sailing and construction and maintenance of leisure boats, on recreational fishing, and subaquatic activities.

  • These themes are embodied in a collection of:

    - 4,500 volumes

    - 176 live publication subscriptions

    - 1,000 periodic publications of leisure sailing that form part of the permanent collection

    - 250 updated nautical charts

    - 110 videos and DVDs
