IMOCA General Assembly

The award ceremony of IMOCA World Championship 2008 was held at the closing session of the General Assembly. The event was chaired by Pere Alcober, Delegate of Sports at Barcelona City Council, which highlighted the role that has the city in celebration of major races.
The schedule for next season includes the European Pro Tour and the Barcelona World Race, becoming Barcelona a key city in the world of ocean racing with monohulls.

Assuring boat reliability, skipper safety and avoiding lost competitiveness among the old boats were the main technical resolutions passed by the IMOCA General Meeting in Barcelona.
