Fundació Navegació Oceànica Barcelona (FNOB) organizes and hosts the first meeting that the regulatory body for monohulls class open ocean IMOCA holds outside France. 
Holding its next General Assembly in Barcelona, Class IMOCA expresses his appreciation to the increasing development of the ocean navigation of competition in our country, and marks a symbolic beginning of the year of the second edition of the Barcelona World Race, which has provided leaving the 31st December 2010.

The assembly will be preceded by several working meetings the day before, with the aim of examining the following topics, crucial for the immediate future of the class: technical changes, class rules and safety, the IMOCA Championship and its race program, organization and running of the class, and communication and sponsorship.
After the assembly and before the closing ceremony, a press conference will be broadcast by the website of the FNOB.
The findings of this General Assembly will be presented at the press conference, by its president Dominique Wavre ocean sailor. It also will be presented the title of World Champion IMOCA 2008, which corresponds to French skipper Armel le Cléac'h
