The training programmes offered by the Shipyard School allow the trainees to acquire appropriate professional skills to cover the needs of the nautical sector. These skills are acquired through two lines of action:
This cycle is part of the range of courses provided by the Educational Department of the Government of Catalonia. In Barcelona, these studies are provided by Consorci El Far in collaboration with the IES Rambla Prim
The vocational training provides the students a set of knowledge that enable them to work as qualified boat maintenance technicians, with the necessary training to acquire the vocational skills of the boat maintenance technician diploma. It also provides them knowledge of the organisation and characteristics of the nautical sector. High School graduation (ESO) or similar is required for access to this cycle.
This training is provided by the Workshop School (WS) aimed at unemployed youths under the age of 25, lasting from 12 to 24 months; and Occupational Workshops (TO) (OW) aimed at the unemployed over the age of 25. These last from 6 to 12 months. They are public occupation programmes aimed at providing training and work to the unemployed, in order to allow them access to the labour market and satisfy the labour demands of the nautical and marina sector. In both cases, they must be registered at the Job Centre of Catalonia.
