Activity

The different projects promoted in this area are implemented through the Foundation for Oceanic Sailing of Barcelona -FNOB-. The FNOB has the mission of bringing the world of oceanic sailing to our city, in order to place Barcelona in a leading position in the world of oceanic sailing in sporting, technological and industrial terms.

The different activities organised have the following main objectives:

• Encouraging knowledge of oceanic sailing culture and sport in our country.
• Promoting the industry, development of research and the nautical sector in general.
• Participation by citizens in projects of interest to the city.
• Putting Barcelona on the map as a world leader in sailing and making its name known worldwide.

Among its projects there is the Barcelona World Race, a double-handed, non-stop round the world ocean race, the second edition of which is to be held in 2010, and creation of the Ocean Racing Team –ORT- .
